ZINECDA in Partnership with MOPSE Participates in Joint Monitoring Visits

ZINECDA, in collaboration with the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education (MOPSE), will participated in the Joint Monitoring Visits in Matabeleland Province from the 17th to the 20th of June 2025. The visit highlighted significant challenges and innovative practices within schools in Reigate and Imbizo districts. Key findings revealed critical infrastructure deficiencies, including inadequate classrooms and safety concerns, leading to alarming literacy gaps among students. Despite these issues, some schools showcased promising initiatives, such as gardening projects that support feeding programs and effective organisational practices. To address these challenges, partners emphasised the urgent need for coordinated action, including infrastructure rehabilitation, literacy interventions, and the timely release of overdue BEAM funds. The resilience displayed by certain schools indicates that, with proper support, systemic improvements are achievable, ensuring quality education remains accessible for all Zimbabwean students.
